Cart won't Charge
Does the battery light on the dash have anything to do with the charge. My cart has a new on board computer but won't charge. It drives fine but when you plug it up everything goes crazy. Could the old OBC have been bypassed so that it would charge.

The light indicates: 1.) low charge (below 25% I think) 2.) Abnormal charge cycle I think that's it... |

Re: Cart won't Charge
By crazy I mean jumping back and forth. The light has never worked so I wonder if the light is the missing link. I tried my charger on another cart and ruled that out. With the old OBC you could charge the cart but as soon as you plugged it up there was no sensing it just started charging and would not shut off on its own. I also compared my wiring to my friends cart that also has the beast motor kit and all is the same as far as the OBC, controller, and solenoid.

Re: Cart won't Charge
What is the voltage of the battery pack you are trying to charge?

Re: Cart won't Charge
It is a 48v power drive system. I have not checked the actual voltage. I do know they are 8v batteries.

Re: Cart won't Charge
If the pack is below 45 volts (I think it is) the charger will not kick on, also have you tried resetting the OBC?
By jumping back and forth you do mean the meter on the charger right? |

Re: Cart won't Charge
Could be the obc, have you tried the charger bypass trick to rule out the charger? Click on my name and click on threads started.. I have a 97 48v CC and started a few threads talking about the OBC and charger. Lots of good info in them. But im not sure how much applies to your 2000 club car.
