Okay - my dealer reports the original unit was discontinued and only the replacement is available.

I think the "original" had the handle and replacement did not. Just wondering why there is one listed for the RXV and another for the 2five.

Useful info?
1) original RXV brake Had handle
2) newer RXV brake has no handle.

I have seen several different looking brake assys.
There does not seem to be any difference in them.

The key to "Brake success" seems to be based on several factors.

1) Instillation..
motor surfaces and rotor lug must be clean.(armature on DC motor)
Bolts must not be over tightened.
Bolts must be tightened evenly.
2) Operator care...
allow cart to come to a complete stop before turning key.
do not push brake to the point that the "emergency/parking" brake engages.
engaging the "emergency/parking" brake while cart is in motion causes
unnecessary stress to parking brake.

When i see brake failure, one or more of these factors are common.
Cars driven without these "Risk factors" seem to have long brake life.
We have several carts with "lever" brakes still in service.

Good luck--- Feedback on my comments welcome

I Agree 100%. I dont think the 2five or Rxv have any difference on brake. No, the "handle" model is no longer available. I wont miss it, if a customer messes with it, or pushes the handle wrong direction once, its toast. I dont know where people are getting brakes with handles (i have heard a few on here say "recently installed new brake with handle"). The newest ones are no longer black, but a plating on the metal, and a few other changes (a drain for water !?!, if you have water up to the brake, you have bigger problems).

OK, finally got a look at this puppy. Motor is made in Slovenia by Iskra. Is the brake attached to the motor opposite of the transaxle? There is a two wire harness here.
