Default Just order 7 leaf batteries. Help please, canada

So I'm making the jump.

Its for an rxv.

I got the cells ordered. Only going 7 cells as the golf cart is used at a seasonal camp ground. If I did 12km in a day I'd be amazed.

Few things I can't track down... bms, seems the one from Australia, but expensive and far away. Other options?

Is anyone selling a bms and charger for a fair price in North America?

Also, bus bars. Is there anywhere to order the brass plates pre cut?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Brass? You want copper not brass. Preferably tin plated copper.

I get all my metals through either OnlineMetals.com or BuyMetal.com They have good copper and aluminum bars for a good price.

As for the BMS, I would normally recommend a REC BMS, but ZEVA would work just fine. You get what you pay for and those Chinese units have a high failure rate.

If you get a non-programmable BMS, tell the vendor you want to limit the charge to 4.05 volts on those Leaf cells. You'll loose 10 to 15 percent capacity at the top, but their cycle life will be greatly extended.

Yes sorry about metal mix up.

So it would seem that is the best option for bms.
I got confused as it says 8 to 16 cell.
Will it run my 7 setup?

Thanks

You can order a BMS on Amazon. Search for a "BMS 14s 48v 100a". You can also get a charger there. Search for a "Charger 58.8v 10a"

You need to study more! Your 7 modules are actually 14 series cells! Each module is actually four cells in 2S2P configuration.

I've seen a few now. But I came across the kit from tech direct inc.
Seems pretty clean. However its breakered at 60 amps.
Is that enough for a golf cart? I feel like the kit is built more so for solar storage..

Yes I'm noticing I'm missing a few things here and there. 14s makes sense. Now I'm trying to figure out whats required for a charger and what sort of draw to expect.

The tech direct kit seems very appealing. Just unsure if its rated high enough.

60 amps is not enough for a golf cart unless all you're doing is using it as a large wheel chair.. and even then it would be tight.

You really need about 100 amps minimum, preferably about 150 to 200 if you want to go anywhere.

If you are buying used lithium EV cells, make sure you get a guarantee of their capacity, especially with LEAF cells as most of them are cooked.

TechDirectClub is not known for being very upfront.
