Default Heavy Duty Brake shoes?

2016 EZGO TXT, is used for landscaping. Trailer attached as well. Do they offer metallic, semi- or organic shoes? Or better yet, who makes a good heavy duty Brake package? Thank you...

Sorry no one replied to your post.
Pretty sure there is a disc brake kit for your cart.
Check with site sponsors here.
IIRC, a company called Ausco makes a disc brake kit for EZGO's.

Good luck!

I was looking for brake improvements. It looked like a disc brake conversion would be about $500ish, if you can find it. After all of my reading on options, I decided to get a new controller with customizable regenerative braking capabilities instead. I can use my brakes much more sparingly now. In my experience, it helps immensely in overall control of the cart.

I set my regen up so I rarely use my brakes and thought it was all good.

Then I tried to stop while going downhill and it took waaaay to long. So on the way home I hit full speed then ran into a dirt patch and slammed on the brakes, expecting to see two slide marks... But the passenger side only slid for a foot and the drivers side never slid at all!

Up on jack stands with the parking brake on, the driver side tire could be rotated by hand...

I looked underneath and the "Brake Compensator" showed the driver side cable way longer than the other. I worked on it quite a bit, I had to bend and re-support the bracket on the axle to shorten the cable. I took up half the extra length on the one side. I ended up getting the drivers side to work well enough to assist, but still won't slide on loose dirt. The shoes are correctly adjusted as well, so that's not it. I think I somehow have the wrong cable installed on one side of the cart!

So, on my to-do list is to get the disc brake kit.

For your cart with pulling a trailer, absolutely set the regen braking up so it's sufficient. That has honestly helped me tremendously when I pull the Christmas Float. But also make sure your brakes are capable because if you need to stop quickly, regen braking won't cut it.

When I started upgrading the performance of my cart, I added the Jakes front disc brakes and adjusted them appropriately. The install was pretty easy and they help to stop the cart much better without creating excess drag.

I was hoping for front brakes, but my lift is a RHOX lift, not a Jakes, and every front brake kit says it fits Jakes.

I don't know how involved it'd be to retrofit Jakes brakes onto a RHOX lift.
