EZGO Medalist Gas 1994 accelerator issues
I'm restoring a '94 gas powered Medalist and having an issue with the accelerator. Basically the cart will only run at full throttle. There's no acceleration range. Even with the gas pedal only slightly depressed it gets up to full throttle in a couple of seconds. It also backfires frequently when riding the throttle to try and maintain a moderate speed.
Any suggestions? Thanks |

Re: EZGO Medalist Gas 1994 accelerator issues
We need more information. Do you have the single cylinder engine or Twin. ( count the spark plugs ) I think your model should be twin cylinder? Pictures would also help, of the carb, the cables and linkages that operate it. The governor assembly on the axle etc.
It is possible someone has zip tied the governor, wound the idle screw all the way down or any other mod to get more speed. The backfiring when feathering the throttle is telling me the carb butterfly is open when the pedal microswitch opens and closes. Hopefully with more info we can get this sorted easily. |
