1994 ezgo that just stops running
I have a 1994 electrice ezgo that will run, then just cuts out and wont go anymore. The solenoid clicks, but the motore wont engage. I have checked all wires, the ITS, solenoid and controler.

Re: 1994 ezgo that just stops running
Or any chance it goes again after it has set a while?
Or if you sit and keep pressing the gas will it go again on try # 7 or 23, you know, random like? |

I tried replacing the its and same results. It will go again eventually if you keep prressing the foor pedal.

Re: 1994 ezgo that just stops running
Sounds like it is time to break out the DMM, wipe the dust off the display so the numbers can be read and measure some voltages.
Just because the solenoid "Clicks", doesn't mean good electrical contact is being made in the high current circuit. When cart is misbehaving: First - Measure total battery pack voltage. Second - Measure voltage on controller side of solenoid after solenoid clicks. Should be the same as total pack voltage. (Note: If a resistor is installed across the solenoid main terminal, pack voltage less about 3-5V or so will be measured before solenoid clicks.) If it isn't, solenoid is bad. If it is, measure voltage at "M-" terminal on controller. Should be total pack voltage (or very close to it) when solenoid first clicks and decrease to zero as pedal is pushed to floor. If Total pack voltage isn't measured, check for bad F/R switch or motor. If pack voltage is there, but doesn't decrease as pedal is pushed, controller is bad, or in low voltage or over current or thermal shutdown. Might be a bad high current cable or cable connection, but I suspect you'd be seeing some smoke and fire if that was the problem. Hope this helps. |

Re: 1994 ezgo that just stops running
Thanks. I have gone through and checked voltages once but will look again

Re: 1994 ezgo that just stops running
Just because the solenoid is making a clicking noise doesn't mean that it's working properly. it sounds like you have an intermittent solenoid activation or solenoid contact problem.
