Default Custom Electric Harley

I bought an old Harley DE3 with 5 silinoids. The motor has 4 leads A1, A2, S1,S2 What is the purpose of each lead. It used to be gas but the previous owner switched it to electric. I am tempted to tear it all out and re do all the wiring. It is a 36v motor. Has Six 6-volt batteries. I have found the correct wiring diagram but there is a piece on the cart that is wired in but no diagram shows it? I am wondering if its from when it was gas and if I can remove it and skip it all together to match the wiring digram. It is located mounted right in front of the far right silinoid. Here is a picture of it! Also where is a good cheap place to pick up a silinoid and what should I expect to pay? Are there ones that are better than others or will any do? Anyone know of a good place to buy plain 4gauge wire and the connectors online? I think it would be cheaper to but a bulk role of wire and get terminals seperate, but maybe not?
