Thats not totally true, depends on how their rated (can deliver 500a for 1 second, or 500a for 1 minute). I have seen some B.S. CTS remans rated at 700a in a short curtis case (yeah, 700a sure), it would get stomped by a SPM500. Its all in the ratings for time, not just the amps number on the case.

In other words, not everyone is comparing apples to apples - just like in battery amp hour ratings don't get me started.

But of note is the higher amperage outputs from the SPM line up of controls. These controls are the same generation as the new TXCT. If the TXCT is like the SPM in output we will see improved performance.
Case in point. The SPM momentary & sustained output exceeds the AXE controls they replaced. See specs below
AXE500 rated 60 minute output 250 amps
SPM500 rated 60 minute output 380 amps

But the controller will only output what the motor is requesting up to the controllers limit. Unless you have some really long, steap hills to climb you'll never need 500a for more then a few seconds.

Good luck getting a written answer Scotty. He wouldn't even answer if it was for stock motors only. I'm not going to bother calling.

Just spoke to Plowman on the phone and I will be ordering the new controller. Seems like it has a ton of cool features.
