Re: new altrax xct controllers for the drive
Well hopefully someone can shed some light on this at some point. Would love to buy one but I want some real world examples before spending my money. I trust plowman but I would like to read some type of specs and expected gains.

Re: new altrax xct controllers for the drive
Seems like there may be some smoke going on here. Nobody has any data or controls to sell yet. We are waiting on delivery or information... as we have been for over a year. D&D has not seen the TXCT for testing with their motors yet. So be patient

Re: new altrax xct controllers for the drive
Don said he should have his next shipment this week. He said with the 300amp version I should be up to 23mph, and pretty quickly. I only travel on flat ground. He also said the unit was plug and play but you can program it on the fly via USB. it will also give heat and speed readings live if hooked to computer.

Re: new altrax xct controllers for the drive
I would not waste money on a 300 amp alltrax.

Re: new altrax xct controllers for the drive
Go straight to a 400a (or larger), you will wish you had later.

Re: new altrax xct controllers for the drive
You can run 400 amp controller with stock motor no problem. You can even run 500 amp control with stock motor under certain situations if you watch motor temps closely.

Re: new altrax xct controllers for the drive
I suggest sticking with 400a on a stock motor. But you can turn a 500a alltrax controller down to 400a until you do a motor upgrade later. The newer ones only require a super cheap usb printer cable (type A male to type B male). The software is free to download from alltrax (pc only, i suggest a laptop).

Re: new altrax xct controllers for the drive
With a stock motor and no plans to upgrade, and the nearest place above sea level is hours away, why would a 300amp controller be a bad idea? Would the 400amp produce and higher speeds? I thought it would just be more torque for hills
