Default I think I have a 2pg

Hey y'all first off thank you to everyone for your time and sharing your hard earned knowledge. I have purchased my first cart and feel over my head it is a 1976 e-z-go three wheel 2 cycle the serial plate says textron and I'm still a little confused on model criteria some websites call it a legend or western from what I have read here it appears to be a marathon. Anyway long story short I have a robin engine 2444cc ec25ds. Is this a 2pg and if so will any 2pg cylinder rebuild kit work? I believe rings and piston are worn and will be performing a compression check this weekend. Right now it runs and drives but is a dog in forward and totes the mail in reverse. I read some great info on here and hope to someday help someone as much as y'all have already helped me.

It's a 2pg. One of the crankshaft bearings is different from the later models with the external starter.

Well from what I'm seeing if you are planning on going with a .25 or a .50 oversized piston they will fit from 1976-1994

https://www.golfcarcatalog.com/produ...ing-Sets-.html

If your planning on buying a kit with a cylinder head included they appear to be different from 1976-1979 and 1980-1988

https://www.cartszone.com/ezenginerebuildkits.asp

As for the standard bore piston, all I can see if that the rings were the same 1976-1991....I can't even find a std bore piston for sale for that year for some
Reason.

Well let the more knowledgeable guys pick up more on this one

No, I only know what I read in the manual, and the experience I have with my 87.
