2000 TXT Why so slow up the hills???
Fine on the flat, but I'm really really slow up hills and the other golf carts in my community happily buzz past.
295 Robins engine. Only mods are (i) 20 inch tires (no lift) (ii) 6098 GATES belt which is 40 3/8" versus the standard 42". Is poor uphill performance to be expected for stock motor with 20 inch wheels? Is it worth putting in one of the brand new Robins replacement 350 engines (only 2 HP more, but newer!). Anything else I can modify to help me up the hills? Cant lift the cart as wife complains this makes it unstable. Will also get complaints if I put a noisy big block single cylinder in. If there's a performance parts supplier out there who can help then please can someone hook me up. Many thanks |

Definitely, your bigger tires is one cause of slow uphill speed (or lack of it). On flat terrain, it should be faster though, after it has gathered enough momentum.
