Golf cart extension to 6 seater - Pros and Cons

I have an ezgo rxv with rear seat and my family has grown with twins so I am searching for a 6 seater. My local dealer suggested that I could extend my cart and add an extra seat. What are the pros and cons of doing this and how much should it cost to do this? I just want to make sure that I am not making a good cart into a nightmare. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

My experience with a stretch kit has been pretty bad. I bought one of the best stretch kits on the marked and the cart sags so badly in the middle it rubs the lawn. I’m now having to take it all apart and weld it.

Just my experience. I’m sure once I’m through welding it it’ll be nice.

Maybe you should consider welding yours at the frame extensions before completing it to avoid this...

So the stretch kit is a bolt on? If so, that sucks. Which kit did you buy?

Playing with the frame is a big and, IMHO, very risky project!

In your case, I would surely opt to search for a limo and resell the short one...

we did one of the club car precedent stretch kits from nivel. it works and looks perfect, i dont know of a kit to stretch a rxv and i wouldnt want to. rxv has alot more wires and cables then other carts. also our cost on the stretch kit was over 2000 or so once you figure in the roof, extra seat bottom and seat back, roof struts. so unless you are a dealer like we are you looking at roughly 3500 retail just to stretch your current cart. i dont see how that could make more sense then selling your current cart and buying a factory stretched cart.

what kit did you use, i have been extremely happy with the nivel kits. we have done a couple club cars and a yamaha drive.

M&M motors bolt on stretch kit for TXT.

Unless welded I don't recommend... either sell and buy a true 6 passenger or weld..... I have seen problems with the cut and spliced wiring harness and sagging with a lot of weight.... over time it seems like they want to fold into themselves....

actaully the way the nivel kit interlocks and overlaps with the original frame it is actually stronger being bolted then if it was welded.

im not surprised. you arent the first person ive heard that from, and the m&m kit is about the most expensive on the market which is bullshit. we worked on one that was a m&m stretch (just a tune up) and i wasnt impressed at all. alot of the frame work to the stretch kit just butted up together instead of overlapping for extra strength.
