Re: Restoring 1992 Yami G9 36v back to factory spec
Does anyone know the difference between the G2 electric battery hold down and the G9? They look almost the same, but they do have different part numbers.

"-01" in the part number only means a minor revision was done, and they are interchangeable.

Re: Restoring 1992 Yami G9 36v back to factory spec
Hi,
I happen to have a 1992 G9 (G9EH2 JH7-002897). It came with the house I bought a few years back and I have done a bit of work on it and it runs great and plan to keep it running for as long as I can. Most of it is original. I've replaced the batteries and, although I have the battery clamps, they just don't fit over the Costco batteries I use and so I have secured the batteries somewaht with spacers and bungee cords (temporary!) Most recent thing I did was to replace the kingpins in the front, not too hard of a task and worth it. There's a trick to get the pin's top end cap installed -- use the old pin and a washer to hammer it in. Took a couple pictures but can take better ones. The solenoid on mine seems original and looks like its located differently than the above post of the G2. One thing I noticed when I was messing around with it was that whomever installed the headlights (obviously not OEM as I can see the rough cutouts) used the frame as a ground so I wired a ground to the batteries instead. I'll put in a 12V transformer sometime, but the lights work fine now and the stereo also. Take a look at the pics and let me know if there are any questions. Its been hard to find info on this exact cart. |

Glad the pics are of some use! I can take more, just let me know. And, no, those bungee cords that hold down the batteries are not stock.
