Full speed all the time on yamaha 36v
My 36v yamaha has no speed variation in the pedal, I press the pedal just far enough for the relay to click then it takes off both rear wheels spinning, the pedal has no controle other than on and off.
Do I need a new controller? The model of the controler is jf310. |

Re: Full speed all the time on yamaha 36v
Disconnect the connector on the gas pedal and hook a meter up to the wires, set to ohms. IT should be variable from something like 0 ohms to 5k ohms depending on how far you press the pedal down. I'm sure someone here can chime in with exact resistance readings. But, if the pot on the pedal is bad, it could cause your problems.

Re: Full speed all the time on yamaha 36v
Just unplug the 3 wire throttle sensor in the gas pedal area. If pressing the gas pedal still results in full throttle, there is a serious wiring mismatch problem with "battery cable sized wires", or a bad controller.

Re: Full speed all the time on yamaha 36v
After Un plugging the 3 wire throttle sensor and leaving it unplugged it still goes full throttle. I also checked the thorottle sensor with a meter and it varied with the pedal from 0-1k. Im guessing its a bad controler because the other day it was working fine and later that night I went out to park it and it only went full throttle. I haven't messed with any of the main wiring.
