Default Is this normal for a gas cart?

I'm looking to buy a 2003 Gas TXT from a dealer. When I went to test ride it, it took a while before the motor kick in. When you pressed the pedal, you heard the starter going. The dealer-dude said that gas had to get through the fuel system & that this is normal for all gas carts when they have been sitting idle for a couple of weeks without being ridden. Before I attempted to ride, I did notice that the gas tank was almost empty, and there was no fuel in the see-thru filter.

Is this normal or should I have salted the line I was being fed?

BTW, after it started, it ran just fine.....no hesitation at all....

Welcome to BGW, buddy,
Yep, you're Ok, as long as it has been sitting a couple of weeks and started fine after it ran a while.
Is he offering any type of warranty with it?

With todays economy, have him fill the tank!
Then you should be good to go for a couple of months!

And I don't know you well enough to call you great looking..........................
Bawahahaha!!!

If you buy keep an eye on the gas line for a few days.
The needle may have a little crud in it and leaking down.

I try to drive my carts thru the parking lot every 2 weeks. This keep the gas running thru the carb. I keep 2 gallons in my carts almost all the time. I would hate for teh cart to run out while a customer is riding it.

If I dont get a chance to ride them and they set for a month, they are harder to crank.
