motor size vs stock contoller

Hey men will a 9 hp D and D motor work with a stock controller? On a2002 pds ez go. Everything is stock.

Don't want to go 30 MPH or clime hill,Just play golf.The stock motor burned up.and I have this one on hand.

For whatever it is worth, I've had an eight HP D&D with a stock controller in my 95 series for a month or so with no issues.

As long as you take it easy it might last..... 5 to 10 mph. You get going faster than that and it will fry. It happend to me.

Why will it fly apart if I go faster than that?????Don't know very much about any part of a golf cart, other than stock.

Nothing will fly apart. But u could fry your controller.

sorry for the miss read.It's these 70 year old eyes,LOL
Now I don't know much about controllers or motors,but I was under the impression that the motor can only use what voltage the controller puts out.
Will the motor over load the controller by being of a larger H.P. than stock?
Or do I need a larger controller along with a larger motor? Sorry for all the question, but not sure what part is in control,so to speak.

Basically motors draw the amps which are metered by the speed control. PDS is a sepex system. Make sure your D&D motor is wound for this (not a series wound motor). Not all motors and controllers play nice together. If it was me, I would call the folks at D&D and get their recommendations for the motor you have.

Golf cart buddies,I hope it's OK if I flood you with questions.
this motor I am trying to use is a 2005 ES-9-B-50.
049 serial #
36-48 volt
The wiring instruction says to connect A1 and F1 to batt. terminal.
then connect A2 and F2 to other batt. terminal.
Sorry Guys this makes to sense to me. ON my stock controller B1 goes to A1 on motor.
A1 goes on controller to neg. post of batt.
M- goes to solenoid.
Other side of solenoid goes to pos.side of batt.

All of you men that know about golf cart wiring,Please tell me what I'm missing or any other information you feel I need,promise it will not hurt my feelings.

Something is amiss here.
Those are not the terminal designations on a PDS controller, or at least not on mine or any schematic I've seen.
Attached is a schematic that is supposed to be for 2001 and up.

The three big terminals are labeled A1, B+ and B-
The two small are labeled F1 and F2.

F1 & F2 on controller go to F1 & F2 on motor.
A1 goes to A1 on Motor
B- Goes to B- on Battery pack.
B+ connects to A2 on motor and Controller side main terminal on Solenoid.
(Note: With stock cables, there is a single short cable from B+ terminal on controller to Solenoid and Two cables on Solenoid Terminal. With heavier gauge aftermarket cables, the two cables are on the B+ terminal on controller instead on the solenoid terminal.)

Got any pictures of your controller and how it is wired?
That may be why the original motor died.
