That is how I have it, and thats what Madoc1 diagram shows?

There are two main terminals (Contactor terminals) on the solenoid.
One goes to B+ on controller, the other goes to B+ on battery pack.

All the solenoid is, is an electro-mechanical switch that connects/disconnects B+ between the battery pack and the controller.

Bottom line: Both solenoid main terminals are connected to a B+ terminal, one to the B+ terminal on the battery pack, the other to the B+ terminal on Controller.

JohnnieB, now I got what you were saying the B+ on the right was the battery positive post.

Thanks all, that's the info I needed. I just wanted to double check before connecting batteries.

And that Diagram from Madoc1, should come with every solenoid sold.

I was just going by the diagram. I don't have a fuse on my charger wires and I took my 400 amp fuse out. Should I have a 60 amp on the charger wires? I never had one on them before I upgraded. Thanks.

Personally, I don't see much sense in either the fuse in the battery charging circuit or the motor circuit.

About the only thing that would cause enough current to flow in the battery charging circuit would be a shorted diode and a shorted 40A diode would probably burn open before a 60A fuse would blow.

Almost the same is true in the motor circuit. The MOSFETs in a 400A controller will probably blow before a 400A fuse will.

Of course, when upgrading a cart, it is probably a good idea to have the fuses in place until you know it is wired correctly.
