My Winter Build
Though about putting this in the albums first. Decided to post here first instead. See pics.. got this cart on Dec 30 of 14. It came off an unsuccessful rental fleet with low hours. Body and frame is a 2009 elec. Yep, Electric! With factory reman, it got a 2012 engine. Neat I guess. Been working on when I could through the winter. Just as a summary of what was done...
1. Paint, black. Krylon Fusion for plastic, coated with krylon MaXX clear and then re-coated with Rustoleum for plastic. Weird I know. It worked, Im happy about it. In hindsight, probably would have had it auto-sprayed. But again, any scratches, i can fix easily. 2. Tires and wheels: Fairway Alloys Sixer 14"-again with EFX Hammer tires 3. New wood under seats and new marine grade vinyl seat material. Pain it the ars to put on! 4. Lift kit. Allsports Super Sport 6" kit. Got real aggravated with this. Works good now that I've got it on, but I had to do some mods to the connection holes. This really should be plug and play and it wasn't. 5. Dash kit. Got a "seconds" from a dealer in Greenville, SC area. Someone returned it, said it didn't fit. 6. Radio, equipped with bluetoof, cd, input, am/fm, and weatherband. Conected to the key switch. key off - radio off. good deal! 7. Speaker pods, Made with 6.5in speaker and set into a irrigation valve cover box that I modified to hold the speaker. I thought it was a good idea. Like it much!! mounted them above the rear view mirror. 8. Guard rail. not too exciting I guess, its just a guard rail 9. Still need a turn signal switch so that is next but the wires and light are in place. The OEM amber light on the cart needed a bulb and bulb bracket as it was only a reflector. went to autoparts store and found what I needed 10. I bought a roof rack but haven't decided how to mount it yet. Kinda mixed as what to do with it. 10. One day I will add a front basket. It has been fun and addicting to work on. Even the wife is happy. Have had to refer to this forum a bunch. Thanks to all for posting. Enjoy |

Re: My Winter Build
Very nice!
It's the first time that I've heard a "brush guard" called a "guard rail", but after looking at it, I have to admit... it makes sense! |
