XRT800 running hot
My 2007 with Kaw 290 engine appears to be running too hot, today it 'dieseled' on me when I turned it off. (Kept running or kicked back and ran backwards) I have noticed that the plastic body by the air cleaner gets real warm when riding it. It does have the cover on the engine but not the smaller square cover over the flywheel. Could this make it run hotter than normal or should I look for something else?

Might have leaves jammed in the cooling fins on the engine. Try blasting compressed air in through the fan shroud and see what comes out.
