Default Governor on 2002 Club Car DS Transporter with FE350

I added the performance kit on my CC and that took my speed from 3100-3200 rpm @16-18 mph to 3700-3800 rpms @ 24- 26 mph. I have 23" tires.

I'd like to adjust the governor to its top end without removing the rev limiter. I read the sticky but at the bottom of the sticky it says 96 or earlier and that after 96 should be the same. But I just want to be sure. I'm going out of town tomorrow morning at 4am and taking the golf cart to the beach with us. I'd like to make these adjustments, but I dont want to screw anything up and mess up the cart right before I have to leave town.

Does the sticky apply to my model year?

How hard is this zip tie method?

Can I do this in a few mins, hours, or a day?

How high can I take the rpms/gov adjustment without the rev limiter kicking in?

Does anyone have pictures of what I'm looking for under the cart? The ones in the sticky dont work anymore.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

I was getting ready to reply to your other thread...

http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/gas-c...s-fe350-4.html

(I think...) the rev limiter kicks in around 4000 to 4100 rpm's, so you really don't have much "play" there...
I'd say leave it alone if your taking your cart in the morning, and experiment with a zip tie later when you have a little more time.

Thanks Lockman.

I'll do that. I thought I read on another post that our rev limiters kick in at 4600 ish. Or maybe I misunderstood that you can run without the rev limiter up to 4600.

I know many folks are running the fe350 up to 32-35mph safely.

Just trying to figure out how to get there.

I'm running about 31mph w/25" tires, reving at about 4800 rpm's w/o the rev limiter (no high speed gears)... and I'm pushing it!

I'd like to be at 30 mph at about 4200 rpms.

Seems reasonable. But I didn't realize that the rev limter kicks in before 4200. Thought it was 4600.

To be honest? I don't really know, I've never tested mine,
and none of the manuals that I have, don't really say!
my 07 FE350 supplemental manual only states what the max revs should be stock, and it's only 3170 rpm's,
the Carryall 2 Plus max's out at 3650...

When you get back from the beach, take some time and do trial zips to see how far you can go!

I remembered something while reading that page over again,
you might want to try to adjust the cable at the electrical components box, either now, or while your at the beach!

Here's the snip-it of the page... (#6)
