Switched power for accessories
Hey all - so I just got my previously dead Yamaha G8 running, and now it is time to add some fun stuff. I would like to mount some Bluetooth speakers and a usb charging plug. But I want to connect to power that is only available when the key switch is on. Is there a good switched source under the seat, or do I need to tie directly into the key switch?

Re: Switched power for accessories
You’ll probably need to come off the keyed switch, just make sure to run through a relay.

Re: Switched power for accessories
The relay will minimize the current running through the key switch. Also be sure to put the accessory power feed on a separate fuse. You wouldn't want to have an accessory issue kill your ability to drive it back home. |
