The second one is what you want. Are you planning to run anything besides just the led lights? That second one is way overkill just to run some lights. A 10 amp would be plenty.

If you plan to add a stereo, fans, or other things besides just lights then I’d get the 30 amp one you linked

That actually was my next question. Where is the best place to mount that reducer?

I am only doing lights. Well, I say that but what about a new horn?

I think you’d be perfectly fine with a 10 amp converter. LED lights don’t draw much, couple amps maybe. Horn maybe an amp if that, depending on the horn or your specific light kit.

My halogen lights work fine on a 10 amp converter, I think I measured them at around 4 amps.

So I can use the first reducer I linked? Also, what would I need to buy in order for those two things to attach to the reducer?

No, the first reducer you linked only pulls from 2 batteries. You still want a 48v->12v reducer. But a 10 amp will do what you want for a lot cheaper than a 30 amp one.

Oooohhhh! Gotcha. Something like this? https://www.amazon.com/Converter-Vol...s%2C183&sr=8-6
I would hook the lights into this rather than directly to the battery terminals correct?

5 wire is the preferred unit. I bough this one and no regrets!

Pretty sure that’s the same one I have in my DS now. I did wire it through a switch so I can turn it off when the cart sits, because it will draw a couple hundred mA when the cart is off. But aside from that it works fine. I don’t drive at night often anyway.

Alternatively, You could get a 48v SPST or SPDT relay and wire it to the key so it automatically comes on when you turn the key on also. You’d run a wire to the key switch to terminal 85, 86 would go to pack ground. 87 would go to pack B+ and 30 would go to the reducer 48v input. If it’s a SPDT (they’re about a buck cheaper than SPST) there’s an extra terminal 87a in the middle that would just be unused. They’re like 6 bucks on Amazon.

I just used a heavy duty rocker switch because I’m lazy, and because I think I’ve used the headlights twice, ever. No sense in having the extra drain on the battery for me (albeit small) if it’s unnecessary.
