1981 EZGO Motor Repairable?
Since my options for motor upgrades to my 1981 EZGO Marathon (apparently there are NO options other than to rebuild the stock motor) I stopped by the local golf cart shop to see if they rebuilt motors. They do not, they send them to their battery supplier to rebuild.
Anyway, the guy told me to pull the motor and pull the armature out to see what condition it was in. Well I did that and here is what I found... Doesn't look to promising to me but I was hoping someone with more electric motor experience could weigh in and give me some good news? Here is the armature. |

Re: 1981 EZGO Motor Repairable?
Here is inside the case...
The motor spun when I did a motor test although the continuity was not correct and this may be why. The armature is not seized and spins freely, although by looking at all of that rust you would think it would be seized. Give me some good news motor GODS! |
