For one thing you'll need a regular RXV controller. The Elite RXV controller won't work with lead acid batteries.

I posted this question about a year ago. Hopefully someone has done this since then. I was unable to find an answer here or from my local dealer.

Greetings all,

I recently purchased an Express S4 Elite. It came with a Samsung 2.0 configuration. I was curious as to how much a dealer might charge to add the second unit and bring it up to 4.0 for added range. I would imagine that the controller needs to be updated as well.

Thanks

Working with allied battery for a solution. Our shop isn't even trying to go to lead acid we are just trying to replace the Samsung with an Allied Lithium Battery.

You can add up to 4 lithium modules this is the "4.0 configuration".
There is a data cable that links each module to daisy chain them.
You can retune the controller to pull a little more current, or leave it as is and enjoy the extended range.

It HAS to be the samsung battery to work with that controller.
