Question 1998 Yamahauler G11 Input shaft removal

Hello, just purchased a ‘98 G11 and used it briefly before a noise developed in the rear and oil started spraying from the input shaft. Removed the belt and found a lot of play in the input shaft bearing. (Also found the secondary to be toast, ramps/sheaves everything, new one on the way). I’m posting though to see if anyones done a video on splitting the case, removing the input shaft and installing new bearings? I currently have the case split, however I cannot pull it completely apart. (I did remove the little flathead plug/set screw and all the bolts around the case cover.) I can see the gears, and they all look to be in decent shape, so thats good. My plan is to just do the essential bearings on the input shaft and slam this thing back together. (I did find a parts diagram in another thread.)

Any comments to help me through this process would be appreciated.

I haven't seen any videos of splitting a transaxle, but I have seen several threads about it. I don't know which transaxle you have, but I know some of the Yamaha's shared parts. I'd definitely recommend getting a factory repair manual either in paper or digital. I'm not super familiar with the G11 and don't know if it's similar to the G9 or G16. Manuals are available for both online, I have seen them for free.

The G 11 is of the yamaha G 2 type. Ron "The New Guy" has a thread with pics of replacing the gears in this unit. Perhaps he or some other computer oriented member can direct you to the thread.

Do you have a link to these free digital repair manuals? That would be great! Thanks

I have some in a PDF format that I use for personal use. I found them for free on the net. If you do some google searching you'll find them. I don't have any links at this time.

If you're the same guy that posted in the Yamaha golf cart group on FB, you have a G16 style rear end. This might help...

Plowmans is your best bet, by far. My G11 has Plowmans overdrive clutch combo and Hot Setup. Great low end, and 30+mph on 22's even with the lower ratio (16:1) rear end.
