Default Newbie- what year, 2 technical ?s

Hello all. I am first time cart owner as of about 1 week ago. I picked up an older gas EZGO for my wife to cruise to the park in our neighborhood with our 2 kids.

I can't find a serial number anywhere. How do I tell what year it was manufactured?

Also, the cart rattles from 14-17 miles per hour and does about 20 MPH max speed lifted with 23 inch tires. I prob won't mess with the cart too much as my wife will mostly be using it but the rattle does drive me crazy!

Also, with the max speed of 20 MPH with 23 inch tires do you imagine the governor is still installed. If so, is there an easy way to remove it.

Thanks in advance.

I should have mentioned however it was implied. The vibration happens from 14-17 mph but goes away above 17 MPH.

need alot more info. is it a 2 cycle or 4? pics would help. the mfg # should be in the right glove box. last two # are the year. 20 mpg is very good.

Oops, sorry about the picture size, first go at it. It is a 2 cycle.

I have looked everywhere, no mfg #, I'm starting to think it was built using different carts.

Like I said before it is just for cruising the n'hood and really all I am looking to do is get rid of the rattle/vibration, well that was before seeing the other carts on this forum!!!

good looking cart. looks like some one put a txt body on a marathon frame. if the muffler is horizontal it is an 89-93 with a 3pg engine. if it is vertical, then it is older with a 2pg engine. nice find.

have anymore pics? those seats look nice.
for the gov. if you have a 3pg you just need to tighten the nut on the gov., which is on the differential.

Excellent, thanks again! I'll get some more pics up hopefully soon. I really like the shape of the seats (especially for my young kids) but they need to be reupholstered in the not too distant future. They aren't in horrible condition but I am quickly learning this can be addicting!
