Default Oil res

Wow, as stated in the previous post I got a cart for cruising the neighborhood a week ago and just started to dig into it this evening. Cleaned it up a bit and the oil reservoir is chipped where the top screws on, thus is leaks a bit and needs to be replaced. I used the search forum but as I am newbie want to make sure I am accurate.

It sounds like ditching the oil res all together is the best move, it is a 3pg. Are the very simple steps as follows:

1. drain oil.
2. remove hose
3. find same size screw to plug
4. remove oil res
5. insert screw
6. drain gas
7. premix 1 oz per gallon
8. fill gas tank

you have it. might also pull of the links from the carb and to the pump, just to clean it up a bit. the screw goes in the manifold, right? it is metric, but common and easy to match.

Yup, and if you want it to look clean, take the pump off the end of the motor. Always a good idea to save the linkages like Madoc suggests, as you may need one of the ends later.
