Re: Anyone fitted wheelsca brakes to Ezgo TXT
There are 2 install issues and something to note I am aware of.
1st issue is the master cylinder mounting is a little fuzzy in the instructions. go ahead and toss the old brake cable return spring out and mount the master cylinder plunger directly to the ezgo bracket as shown. Second issue is the brake bleeding. This has been the biggest hurdle in the install for most installers. I think part of the problem is that the master and the lines are so small, as is the reservoir. Hopefully, some of the guys who have made the install can shed some light on how they conquered this hurdle. Lastly NOTE that the torque on the rear hub is 80-140 ft pounds. One person didn't see this note and stripped out the splines on the hub after about 6 months. I personally have had 2 years of trouble free use on my set up and the small 7 inch set still stops the big cart on a dime. |

I haven't found any trouble with that. I'm running 3 inch spacers in the rear of my cart.

Re: Anyone fitted wheelsca brakes to Ezgo TXT
I bought mine from Scotty. To bleed with wheels off and on jack stands, I pulled vacuum on all the lines ( this will make you wish you had a larger holding reservoir). Then I cracked open each bleeder till I got the smallest drip. Leave the reservoir cap off, and add fluid as needed for about an hour. Close off bleeders, top off reservoir, install cap, Done deal. Oh, and surely you mounted the reservoir at a high point.

Re: Anyone fitted wheelsca brakes to Ezgo TXT
I used a Mityvac from HF and hooked up to the bleed screw at each wheel and pulled fluid through the system. That got a good stream of fluid in the lines. Second step, removed the reservoir cap, then crack both breed screws just enough to establish a very small drip maybe every 10-20 seconds. Each time it drips it allows air to move towards the highest point ( reservoir ). Keep adding fluid as needed. You can actually watch the air bubbles come up through the reservoir during this process. Do this step for about an hour. If you dont see any more bubbles coming up, then close off bleeder screws, top of reservoir, replace cap. Done. Doesn't get any better than this. Works on cars as well. I do it on airplanes all the time.

Re: Anyone fitted wheelsca brakes to Ezgo TXT
Hi Kernal, my cart does 33mph and while the mechanical disc brakes were better than the standard drum brakes they just do not cut it for stopping at these speeds. I have a full set (front & rear) wheelsca hydraulic brakes on the way soon from Scotty Scotty if you are reading this I am sooooooo waiting buddy
