So I went ahead and pulled the engine completely apart. Glad I did, even though the crank bearings were tight, they were shot and locking up/notchy. I could even see where they must have been locking up and actually spinning on the crank-I can remove them off the crank by hand.
A complete rebuild is in it's future. That's ok though- the PO had replaced the belts, starter/generator, fuel pump, both clutches & battery. I've replaced the solenoid and installed HEI. So it will be like a new cart now. I've been busy installing brake lights and front lights & a radio & speakers. |
