1981 marathon hard starting when hot
Hi all! I have a 1981 gas Marathon that is an absolute bear to start after it's driven less than 10 minutes in the heat. I'm not too up on the tech side of carts so please go easy on me. lol! The cart will run fine as long as I don't stop it but once it heats up and I stop the cart I have to wait till it cools down enough for me to continue. I remember reading something somewhere about heat being an inherent problem for the ignition system in these carts and I'm curious if anyone has found a fix for it? What are some of the other things I could check to see if I can find if it's a different problem?
Thanks!! |

Carry an extra plug with you. When it quits, plug it in, and hold it against the engine to check for spark.

And if it's not getting a spark then it's probably an overheated ignition issue?
Thanks for the reply |
