Default Shock no-no

Well I really don't want to admit I did this but if it saves someone else from doing the same thing then it'll be worth it.

I bought four Monroe shocks for my '92. Put them on with no trouble and took her out for a test spin. It IMO made a noticeable difference in the ride.

Brought her back to the garage and something was leaking out the front. Well I had punched a hole in one of the shocks with the block lift. You can see in the photo's where the corner came back into the shock and put a hole in it. Whoops.

So I got out the trusty angle grinder and knocked off the corners as seen in the other picture with the hope the axle won't spring back into them. Thankfully I only did it to one shock and just dented the other.

Hope that this will help someone in the future from doing the same thing.

Which Monroe shock did you use?

I'm looking at replacing the rear shocks on mine with something other than factory.

31000 for the rear and 31125 for the front.

These are for a four inch lift kit.

I would think so, I don't know of any reason that they wouldn't.
