Default What's a lot of hours on a golf cart?

Picked up a 1994 g9 had an hour meter on it with 1800 hours I assume it is accurate beings the mfg date on the hour meter is the same as the year of cart is this a lot a little or average?

Hours doesn't really mean too much if the vehicle has been maintained and repaired regularly.

The type of use is also a factor. If the cart was used entirely as a golf cart on a golf course, the house will be harder than if it was used at a stadium or school as a field vehicle. Or if it was 50% golf course, 50% homeowner use.

These golf cart engines, with proper maintenance, should last past 3000 hours, possibly 4000+. Without proper maintenance 2000 hours could be alot. The thing with engines is you don't know the real condition without taking vital signs like compression, valve wear, cylinder bore wear, etc.

The chassis will last a lifetime, provided work parts are replaced and rust is not an issue.

As with everything....condition, condition, condition!

That's rare... like saying a car with 100,000 miles has lots of life left in it. Well maybe so but, not always the case.

I don't think hours mean much. I've seen some on You-Tube I would never buy and that's based on 3 minutes.

I agree with the proper service and how its used and the cart motor will last a very long time. Any of the golf cart motors can have issues with very few hours if they haven't been maintained. At the same time, Properly maintained and over 5000 hours is not a problem. I see carts with 20,000 MILES, and they will continue to go.

Hour meters? Is this common? Never seen one, but I am a newbie. My 2013 I bought from dealer right before it was out of warranty, I assume was from a golf course or fleet lease.
