Default fuel pump pulse hose G16A

No fuel to carb. I disconnected the pulse hose and started the engine with just the generator to see if I could feel a pulse. I was not able to get a bubble or a vacuum. The hoses and connection looks tight with no signs of an oil leak. Should I feel a pulse with just running the generator to try to start the engine?

Blow back thru the pulse line to make sure it's not plugged up.

Yes it will pulse enough with just starter but not sure you would beable to feel it spray something over the end of the line that creates a bubble there should be enough to see it move

I put a soap/spit over the hose and my thumb and I didn't see much suction or vacuum. Is my next step is a compression check? then assume its the crank seals? It is a 1999 model? I think now is time to ask for a maintenance manual.

found the two issues that was keeping me from running. I pressured up the take to check for leaks, which primed the fuel pump for me as suggested by Mr. Don. The while removing the drive belt to keep it from moving while I was trouble shooting the starting and running problem. It seems that the new clutch assembly that I just installed was loose. so I removed the bell housing and place a pry bar within the shaft and the bearings to give me leverage while I tighten the center bolt.
Thank you all for this forum and Mr. Don for the patients
