Default New member, few questions

Hello everyone,

I'm a new member here from East San Diego. I'm also an avid fisherman and hunter. While I admire many of the members rides here, and I recently bought 1981 Yamaha G1 Gas last week. I began to get my hands dirty and started working on it. I ordered Jake's 5 inch lift and as soon as I installed the first arm, I realized that the spindle mount larger than Jake's and also the shock mount do not line up with Jake's. Is this normal? What else do I need to do to make this work?

Are you sure it is for your year ? Most lift kits for the Yamaha G1 are for 1982 and up !

I recently bought new spindles for my 1981 G1 (converted to 1982 and up spindles) but what supruised me is the 1981 hubs are not fitting the 1982 and up. The inner bearing are too small. Do I need to get new bearings or the whole hub? Can someone point me to the right direction?

Did you call Jake's and ask them. I have spoken to them before and they were very nice and helpful
