Re: G1 is now home, it's worse than i thought
You stole my color
20170716_111921.jpg 20170717_184454.jpg I built that cart for my daughter and unfortunately the cart nor my daughter look the same now. The G1 now sits with blown tires and bent parts after her recent attempt at jumping it. No worries though her face is healing well. |

Re: G1 is now home, it's worse than i thought
Thanks Expo, the scar was going to be a pain to fix so it will always be there. Brutal your cart is awesome and yes i did steal the color Glad to hear your daughter is healing. I took the cart to the desert and it ran the whole time with a few issues. The forward solenoid quit on me so i had to switch them so no more reverse now. It also seemed like it was running lean the whole time and half throttle seemed to be the sweet spot for it running the best. I'm thinking crank seals any opinions?

Crank seals could be getting worn also check the throttle shaft in the carb they wear out and let air in

The throttle shaft looks good, when i rebuilt the carb i checked it out. I also installed a new intake because the old one had some cracks.

Re: G1 is now home, it's worse than i thought
crank seal time. not a bad job just need the puller for the clutch. They come out and go in fairly easy.
Do you know what year your cart is? I think the later model solenoids can be rebuilt. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Yamaha-G1-g...pY-ADH&vxp=mtr https://www.ebay.com/itm/Solenoid-Go...taAdam&vxp=mtr I was given an 84 that wasn't running and has a homemade lift. It eats tires in the front at the moment but after going through the electrical system and fuel system including the crank seals its just a blast. We ride the "yammi dog" constantly. cosmetics will come eventually. |
