Default New LED headlights pulsing

Hi all. 2001 G16 cart. Installed a new set of LED lights today. GTW kit. Plug and play setup. Drove it tonight and the lights pulse noticeably when the engine is running. It’s annoying. Power and ground is wired directly to the battery. Starter/generator??

Might be worth trying another ground to the frame, closer to the lights.

Do you know what the current draw of the lights are when they are on?

What is a GTW kit -- plug and play -- are you sure it doesn't have a day time safety mod that pulses the headlights.

Not sure about the current draw but would expect it to be low with led lights.

Sorry, GTW is the brand name of one of the popular after market kits for OEM style headlights and tail lights. It comes complete with a very nice wiring harness with molded plugs. All encased in wire loom. Ground is at the battery. In order to ground elsewhere I would have to cut into the harness.

Can you put a meter in line with the power wire to it and see what current draw is? There's a Metra part called IBVSTABL that is a voltage stabilizer, and it's cheap. Works well. But it's only rated for 2 amps dc. Exceed 2 amps on a consistent draw and it will smoke the module but it will do 2 amps all day long and give you a nice stable 12v power supply regardless of what the car's voltage is doing

Current draw is 1.25 amps....
Charging at what seems to be a constant 15.2v when running using a DMM to test.

1.25 will be good. Led's flicker due to low voltage usually. So either you've got bad headlights (and both of them being bad is unlikely) or unstable voltage coming into them. Any car audio shop that carries Metra products (so basically any car audio shop or best buy) should have the IBVSTABL module. It's simple to hook up... ground, power in (from headlight switch) and power out (to headlights). If this doesn't cure it, then I'd replace the headlights.

It's also possible 15.2v is too much for them. Moat aftermarket electronics are only rated 10-15VDC. Once you start getting up to 15v range things get a little weird.
