Default 95 club car new carb problems

Just installed new carb on my 95 ds. Experience hard starting, slow starting, bogging, stalling, and no power uphill. Old carb lost its butterfly, and ran wide open, but good. Please help!

Where did the butterfly go? I think that is the answer to your problem.

I thought the same thing, but the old carb ran fine. Just wide open. CCs have a reputation for eating their butterflies. These problems didn't exist until I changed carbs.

I don't think the butterfly problem existed before the chinese carbrarators

I did notice that the new carb has a thicker, brass butterfly.

Update. I swapped the butterfly from the new carb onto the old carb. Reinstalled old carb. Same problem. Is fuel line size critical? I broke the feed line, and replaced it with rubber fuel line, 5/16 ID. It's the only other thing that was changed.
