What engine did the 2005 Precedent have?

Did the 2005 still have a kawasaki engine? Also what year did they change to the Subaru?

What is the hp rating on each?

The early 2005 had the Kawasaki FE290, then changed to the Kawasaki FE350 in late 2005/early 2006, and used until mid to late 2013.
There's a bar code sticker on the engine shroud that will tell you what engine it is.

FE290 - 9.5 hp
FE350 - 11.5 hp
FE400 - 13.5 hp (not used in Precedents)
Subaru EFI - 14 hp (started service in late 2013)

Good info, did they use the Subaru at all before it was fuel injected?

What was the last year for the DS? Where they all 9.5 hp?

I think 2012 was the last year for the DS, but don't quote me on that.
and I think up until 2011, DS's still had mostly FE290's, but some 2012's had FE350's w/ACR.

However... my 2007 Lynx is a DS, (XRT 550, a factory modified "hunting vehicle") and it has an FE350 w/o ACR.

I don't really know why Club Car changed over to the Subaru EFI,
from everything that I've heard, it's a good strong engine, but a bit too new to modify, and get aftermarket parts for.
and no... there wasn't a non-EFI Subaru engine in Club Cars before the change over.
