Default McMaster-Carr Springs

Hello!

First post. Recently picked up a decent G16A. Great little cart. Not looking to lift it but with the rear seat kit and a full load she's all over the place. Need to firm things up. I was thinking the McMaster springs front and rear. I've seen some old posts referencing them but no real reviews. Just wondering if they are a good option or I should just go with the HD factory replacements or the Jake Springs instead?? Keeping in mind this is a low budget project according to the wife! LOL.

I did manage to squeeze a set of 20x10-10 tires on with a little cutting in the rear.

Thanks!

I have a g16 too . I put a 5 inch lift with 22x10 on it . I replaced the factory springs on the back with the McMaster springs for like $40 . It improved the back quiet a bit . Last weekend I had 500 pounds with my brother and Me on the back . It swayed enough to catch the fender wells on turns . I pulled the back springs off again , cut a piece of 2 inch pipe 3/4 inches long , and put one under each spring as a spacer . I found out that one shock doesn’t even work . I’m on a budget too , so I put the springs back in . It’s a little stiff with 2 ppl , but does much better under a full load . I think the McMaster springs are a great cheaper way to go . I’m thinking about putting a set on the front also . Hope this helps .

Thanks for the input. I’m in the same boat. I believe the factory shocks are toast but I read on here if they aren’t leaking, leave them alone. So I may just try McMaster springs the whole way around. I’m a big boy (300lbs) and the cart is usually full.

Almost a year later , I just replaced my McMaster springs on the rear with HD Yamaha springs . It took the wobble out of the cart at speed and I can carry two grown men on the back as long as I don’t turn fast . The cheap way got me by for a while, but I spent $25 on springs and only $100 for new . If your shocks are shot , just save money and get some new ones .
