Curtis Albright SW180-93 wiring
Hello I have a 1995 48V Club Car DS that I am doing the motor, controller and solenoid upgrade on currently and I’ve got it all hooked up but it doesn’t engage the solenoid like it should and I was concerned that I had maybe wired the solenoid wrong because of the completely different setup as opposed to the original and where my confusion is coming from is understanding the + and - on the new solenoid I’m under the impression that the stud on the side with the + is obviously the + side and the 2 push on connector posts on that side are also + and the stud opposite as well as the 2 posts on that other side are the -..... is this wrong? Thank you in advance.

Re: Curtis Albright SW180-93 wiring
This solenoid has magnetic break out. Both of the big cables are +
One big terminal is marked +. The battery main + cable goes here. Typically, the other side connects to the controller B+. I'm not just saying top is + and bottom is -. I'm telling you to LOOK at the solenoid and see the markings yourself. |

http://assets.curtisinstruments.com/...right_RevA.pdf A magnetic blowout minimizes the heavy arcing that burns the solenoid contacts. The magnetic field pushes the arc away from the contact surfaces. |
