Hi Mark,
How are your brakes coming?
Did you get the new master cylinder?

Just got a chance to look at your post. Thanks for the link! Yeah that Raybestos looks just like the one I removed and cheaper than the NAPA one I saw!

It also seems a bit easier to just replace that to rebuild at this point. The rebuild kit is $20 but with shipping NAPA quoted like $35. I also checked Harbor Freight for the tool to scrape the inside of the cylinder which they did not have.

Seems like with all the time and effort involved in a rebuild i might as well just buy new.

Thanks for the help!

Got the cylinder a couple of days ago. Not sure how much I can do in the next couple of weeks but going to plug away at what I can.

Quickly tried to attached brake cylinder but rubber part seems like it wont fit in hole? maybe it has to come off?

pics attached

:)

Thanks!

Got this working BTW. Took the rubber part off, attached cylinder and filled with fluid.

I have never bled brakes before. I disconnected the brake lines from the rear wheels and pumped them. A thick black fluid ran out so I continued pumping brakes and filling master cylinder until it ran clear then reattached lines. Brakes still didn't quite work...

I then notices a couple valves coming from close to where brake lines attached and realized maybe this is where they bleed? I bought a brake bleed tool from harbor freight ($20), loosened valve and pumped tool for a bit. One of the valves bled but the other did not. Maybe clogged?

Anyway, brakes DO work now ... sort of... I have to press pedal all the way to the floor to get cart to stop... BUT making some head way!!!
