1987 CLub Car DS,(Walle), the Before and After...
Hey guys so jus twant to thank everyone for all the help and im sure future still ahead of me as I am not done. Just wanted to give some before and ALMOST after pics to show her progress. The paint work is just plasti dip and temp, but considering that wasnt my main focus I feel pretty good about it.
So I purchased this car a mess as the photos show and between the sponsors here and you guys I cant thank you all enough. I still need to get new tires, and finish the horn and voltage meter thing. I just have a couple of questions: 1. I noticed my new battery to battery cables get hot when i return. Ive seen some stuff on here, about the solenoids going to get hot and stuff. Is this decently normal? 2. Also going to install the battery meter guage, Any suggestions on how to wire it to the batteries and the key switch? I assume 10 gauge wire is ok? |

The positive battery post looks like the cable ends are suspect, plus the heavy cable need to go on battery first. Looking good

Cables getting warm is usually a sign of resistance in the connections. Those look like newer ends, are they snugged up good. Don't over tighten, that can pull post out of battery and cause a problem. 110 in lbs.

Looking good!
Mrgolf gives good advice about the cables. And, no they should not be getting hot. |

i just ran it now and battery cables are for sure getting hot, the battery to battery ones. I got it charging and the charger shows good on the charging process and fully charged, but no gauge to tell just the charger light.
I checked the contact on all the batteries, and they are snug and flipped the red ones to be the main contacts on battery also. I dont know what could be wrong. |

Your cables might not be good quality. They look new but sometimes looks can be deceiving.
