2004 Precedent Drove Perfectly then Suddenly Died.
I'm the original owner of a 2004 Club Car Precedent Serial # CE0432-418067 that won't move forward or reverse more than 1”. Prior to this breakdown, I had no indication whatsoever of any potential mechanical/electrical issues. I installed four new 12v batteries 24 months ago. When I plug the cart into the charger, the needle on the meter now doesn't even move, but does make a slight “humming” sound.
Could this possibly be an issue with the forward/reverse switch or perhaps the MCOR unit? Thank You, JD |

What's pack voltage? WAG: batteries are dead, so the cart is dead and the charger won't kick on either due to low voltage in the pack or an OBC lockout. Again, that's just a rookie guess.

"WAG"?? - Could that be a Wild A$$ Guess?🤣 - If so, I like it!
Prior to stopping dead, the cart felt just fine. No loss of power and the batteries are only 24-months old. |

Re: 2004 Precedent Drove Perfectly then Suddenly Died.
Start with the basics before buying new parts.
Problem could be with your charger but first I would check each battery connection to be sure they are tight and there is no corrosion on the posts. Be SURE you put your cart in TOW mode, then disconnect the main pack negative cable then the main pack positive cable. Then, clean off any corrosion. After cleaning and checking the cable connections, use a voltmeter and check the voltage across the pack. If the batteries are charged above 50% then the problem may be your charger. The easiest way to check this is to borrow a known good charger and see if it works. Let us know if this works for you. EDIT: Just realized you said you have 4 12v batteries |
