ok so last night I put my new belt on the cart and it slips worse than the old belt. very strange. It looks like to me that the primary clutch is not engaging all the way and is making the belt slip(but its not smoking the belt) i only say that because my 4wheeler will smoke, granted it has 78hp vs 22hp but still you would think it would smoke.

So I am thinking its within the primary clutch itself? i was thinking about going with a Polaris sportsman clutch but i will have to run an ada[ater for "keyed to tappered" 1" shaft. Thoughts?

my CVT clutch is only a little over a year old. I am working on trying to get it warrantied but i dont want to deal with this in another year or so.

ok after going and checking out my friends cart which is a yamaha G14 and mines a Ezgo ST, he has a Team Industries Rapid Response roller clutch.

Can you even run one of these on an Ezgo? not even sure it would fit in the engine compartment without hitting the battery tray/support.

Has anyone ran these with my set up?

as for the Rapid Response, arent they alittle more HD and can take higher RPMs? very rarely does my cart go over 4500 for more than 10/15 seconds at a time but i feel like the Rapid Response would have a harder bite to it .

just curious.

Yeah the Rapid Response is a big clutch, never used that one due to space issues. The 780 fits nicely in a golf cart, and unless you're running big power it will do just fine. It's rated up to 20hp but I used it on my 23 Vanguard and my Predator 670, worked fantastic. Big fan of that clutch.

You can get them at CPP and Vegas Carts, look on our sponsors page. Don't buy one from a random site it could be a fake.

If anyone was to use a Team Response clutch, which one would it be? i cant seem to find info on the shaft size for them? I know I'll have to run an adapter from CPP.

I hate using adapters, they have spun on my before. I know some people use them with success, but let's be honest, it's not really the "correct" way to mount a clutch. It's more of a "cheap fix" kinda thing.

As for the Rapid Response clutch, not many people on here have used them. They just aren't as popular, probably because of cost and size.

On the other hand, tons of people here have used the 780 with great success.
