Upgrade decision - need help.
I am ready to start my upgrades - but have a question. I can only do one of the following at this time...
Should I upgrade the motor to the D&D 10:2 motor first, and leave the rest stock, or upgrade the controller/FNR/Solenoid first and do the motor and 48V conversion later? |

i'm with chevy. all cables, fnr, sol., controller first. then 48, then if that is not enough, motor. you can run your 48 set up with 36v h.d. solenoid. gorno had his that way i still do.

Re: Upgrade decision - need help.
Okay - Guess I'll get the controller/Solenoid and FNR ordered.
If I install just the controller at 36V with my stock solenoid and FNR, I should be okay to run it like that for a week or so until I get the batteries and 48v HD Solenoid and FNR cam installed, right? |

Re: Upgrade decision - need help.
It is best to wait and install when you have all the pieces to make a complete step. The controller will not work well with your existing Solenoid, F&R, and Cables...
If you want small steps collect matched components until ready. No sense even making cables for the existing system as any upgrade will be changing the wiring from a 4 terminal controller to a 3 .... hope that makes sense. You could do the Switch Cam .... & some of the cables ? |

Re: Upgrade decision - need help.
Was just looking at the costs and time involved and looks like I am going to do the 48v, controller/solenoid and switch cam all at once.
Just trying to figure out how to mount the batteries and how to somewhat cover or waterproof the solenoid. The controller is already potted - no issues there. But I do rinse out the underseat area when I wash the buggie after a hunting trip so, I;d like to cover/waterproof the solenoid as best I can. |

Thanks for the pic!! Exactly what I was looking for! You strapped them down with heavy duty zip strips?

Re: Upgrade decision - need help.
I have used 2 single battery hold down frames from any auto parts house. The kind with 2 long rods that I drilled holes in the floor for and used a piece of 1/8 x 1 1/2 inch flat with 4 holes in it to hold everything down
