Default What's that phillips screw for on the engine

I saw a YouTube video today where this guy turned a Philip's screw all the way down on the engine next to the gas cable that is supposed to make the cart go faster. I did it to mine and it is faster but what did the turning of the Phillip's screw do?

What cart do you have and can you post a picture of the screw?

That would probably help. Sorry about that. It is a 99 EZGO with the 295. The screw sits next to the accelerator cable and is a vertical screw.

That's how that knucklehead might do it but it but he doesn't have a clue what he did.
He adjusted the throttle stop screw all the way in and it holds the throttle wide open bypassing the governor and he also only has one speed now, wide open. Notice when he slows down he is off and on the pedal kill switch.
If you want to get some more speed properly adjust your throttle cable and linkage a little tighter.
Check the Ezgo stickies for the proper "how to".

No, it had more get up and go but I figure there has to be a trade-off. Still looking for the Turbo kit.
