Default 88 frame issues

Got it tore down and found a few goblins here and there....mostly, the floor pan , I always felt this cart "flex" a lot when going over uneven spots....dosent look like it would come out easy either, just go over it I guess?......rear bumper mount pretty bent, haven't worked with aluminum much, just beat the hell out of it?....heat it a little maybe?.....weld broke under dash too.....let me try to add pics here.....

You can use alum angle (home improvement store) and 3/16" alum rivets to beef up the floor pan by the rocker panels (and rebuild battery supports). A good alum welder guy would need to re weld the firewall. (Take off the serial number plate before welding that busted weld or you'll burn the plate). The bumper mount will be the biggest job for your fab/welder guy. This is a key component for mounting rear seats etc. Check the entire I beam frame for cracks or breaks. Clean it for sure! You have some issues but not terrible. I had all that and a busted I beam 16" from front of frame. (2) 1/4" steel splice plates kept it together. Persistence will rule the day!

at this point, im thinking I should just take the front and rear ends out so its light enough to throw in the back of the truck and take to welding shop.......maybe they can fab in a new floor pan while its there.....I guess you can paint those frames?........needs some major scuffing though looks "rusty" here and there....

Getting the cracks clean is most of the work when it comes to Tig welding. I've seen worse repaired

I had to repair the bumper attachment portion of the frame on my '88. Think I used 3/8" steel. Could have been 1/4". Just took them off a month ago. Sorry to report, they went to the recycler, otherwise I would have sent them to you gratis.

if it wont straighten out ill just cut them off like you did.....didn't think of that.....a buddy of mine has a buddie with a weld shop so im gona take it to him for some beef up and a floor pan (way thicker and welded to both sides should take the flex out I hope).....

Well, it just keeps getting worse.....not sure when to call it but at this point I wouldn't be comfortable unless the whole **** thing is re -welded AND reinforced......im used to Rhino and atv frames so this looks weak to me.....still gona take it to the weld guy and see what he says ($$$$)
