Default EZGO Engine ?

First off, cant figure how to post pics but general Question about cart. Supposed to be 89 ezgo 2 stroke, engine is shot according to owner. I have not seen cart in person yet. Question is I need a ballpark outside figure on what engine would cost, and could it be replaced with 4 stroke as I do not want 2 stroke job? Pics show nice looking cart with winch and few other extras. I realise no one could give me exact amount but i,m wondering if 89 worth it to begin with. I cannot do work myself so it would be done at cart place where I take my other cart for service. Thanks for any input and by the way I,m in central Ga. area just for reference.Paul

Your best bet would be to call the cart place you go to for your other cart. They may or may not do custom work.

If you find a 4-stroke Marathon, you can swap the entire swingarm out, with the motor, trans axle, wiring, cables etc..The swap could be done in an afternoon, providing everything is in good working order.Unhook all wiring,cables,fuel-lines,etc.Unbolt the shocks and the swing-arm bolts and roll them out and into the opposite chassis.Hope this helps.

I would say look for a newer cart even if it were given to you if you can't do the work yourself your going to be big money in a cart you don't want.(MAYBE $1,000 or more and still a 2 stroke) Be advised there are people looking for parts for the 1989 model as it's a strange bird (muffler $600.00 replace) This is just my $.02 cents others may have a different option.
