G1 will not shut off
My G1 starts fine but takes off and runs to high throttle and stays there, but will not shut down when the gas pedal is released. I have replace the relay, the stop switch under the pedal, both solenoids and the VR, with no change. To turn it off I have to use the key switch. I have read a couple threads similar and some say it could be the carb, but shouldn't the pedal release kill the spark to the plug?

Re: G1 will not shut off
Yes, the "stop switch" at the pedal kills power to the solenoids depending on the key switch position. Did you replace the solenoid with an OEM Yamaha solenoid or an aftermarket unit? Some after market solenoids have the "normally open and normally closed" ends reversed.
