Default Back up alarm won't shut off

I have a 48 volt EZGO with an Alltrax 400 controller. My back up alarm is constantly on when the batteries are connected. Does not matter if the key is on or off. Dosen't matter if the directional selector is in forward or reverse. The cart functions normally in forward and reverse. The only issue is the constant back up alarm. Any ideas? Is this some type of an error or alarm code? Can I just disconnect the back up alarm?

Did you get it wet? I have done that before on my lifted cart so i unplugged it for a few days and let it dry out and it's been fine since.

I assume that this just started happening recently?
If so, then what else happened recently, say just before this started?
Did you do any electrical or mechanical work on the cart?
Did someone else drive the cart that might have done something?
Have you noticed anything else that changed recently?

Very long story. Basically I had to change the 10 pin connector on the controller. Pin#7 was loose in the connector not allowing the coil not to fire when the accelerator was pressed

One side of the beeper is connected to B+ 100% of the time and all that is needed to make it sound is connecting B- to the other side. Normally, the DCS controller connects B- to the other side of the beeper via Pin-3, but the wiring on the other side of the beeper may be finding B- someplace else.

While beeper is sounding, flip the Run/Tow switch to Tow.
If that shuts off the beeper, the controller is the problem.

If it doesn't, it is a wiring issue. The beeper is a low current device and operates over a wide voltage range, so it wouldn't take much of a short to B- to get the beeper to sound.

---------------

Yes, the cart will work with the beeper disconnected, but read the attached article before you decide to do so.

Double and triple check the connections on the 10 pin connector.
Possibly you put one or more pins in the wrong positions.
Or you may have a short between a couple of connectors.
Also make sure the connector is plugged in properly.
You are probably lucky that the buzzer sounding is all that is wrong.
